WHAT MAKES HER AN AWESOME TUTOR
I am a great listener and the certified pep talker amongst my friends, and I always try my best to bring this enthusiasm to tutoring. I was never the most gifted growing up, but I was never afraid to ask questions and this was key to helping me succeed. Because of this, I try my best to make students feel like no question is off the table and that having the confidence to fail is admirable! Math can be so fun when you get the hang of it and I believe everyone can get there!
FUN FACTS
Life goal: Short-term I want to get my Master's (and potentially a PhD) and two cats! Long-term I would love to work for either a major news outlet or scientific journal as an editor and/or science writer.

"Don't let the muggles get you down" - This was my high school graduation quote and it is still one of my favourites.
Favorite Mathematical Weapon: I love Desmos! I have no idea how anyone learns graphing concepts without visuals and I am always sure to have it open when reviewing functions. But also any diagram in general, visuals are key!

Education: I recently completed my BSc in Environmental Science at McGill University (2022).
Fave Tech device: Begrudgingly I will admit to the fact that it is my phone since I love Twitter and I need to maintain my Duolingo streak!
Fave Book: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, I have lost track of how many times I have read it at this point!
Fave Song: This is such a tough question because it changes all the time, but my current favourites are Make Room!!!! by My Chemical Romance, I Think I Smell a Rat by The White Stripes, and Libre by Angèle.
Fave Outfit: I love a graphic tee or sweater vest paired with jeans and loafers.
Fave TV Show: Merlin! It is such a random show from the 2010s that is super "campy" and albeit a bit lame regarding its visual effects, but it is such a comfort binge. I also really love shows like Game of Thrones (and now House of the Dragon), Downton Abbey, and Fleabag. I just love British TV!
Fave Movie: I am such a film nerd that there are so many to choose from. My current favourite is probably The Worst Person in the World (a recent Norwegian film), but I also love films like Casablanca, Dogfight, Pride and Prejudice (2005), and Manchester by the Sea (I am a sucker for a sad movie). I have also watched every Harry Potter and Narnia movie more times than I can even remember and reference them an unhealthy amount.
When you're not crunching numbers: You can probably find me reading or watching a movie. I also love going to concerts, thrifting books and CDs, and travelling.

NERD ALERT!
I cannot pass up the opportunity to check out a new bookstore. I especially love secondhand bookstores because I like to source editions of books that are out of print to add to my collection (I have up to 30 editions of some books). Beyond books, I am super passionate about physical media in general and collect CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, etc.
